Parashat Korach
A good name is more desirable than great riches; favor is better than silver and gold.
proverbs 22:1
Korach sought for himself glory and to make a name for himself. In so doing, he did not esteem the honor and position God had given him, but coveted what was given to others. He took his eyes off of God, setting aside the word and will of God in accusing Moses and Aaron of having sought to elevate themselves.
But Moses and Aaron did not seek to make their names great, but rather operated in humility with a heart that desired to make God’s Name great. Because of this, God made their names great.
So too, Yeshua sought only to do the will of the Father and to bring glory to His Name. God raised Yeshua as the first fruits of the resurrection, confirming that he is the Messiah and has been given the name that is above every name!
…[Yeshua] humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.
