Parashat Ki Tetze
In this week’s message, we delved into the themes of compassion, justice, and redemption, emphasizing God’s unwavering care for the weak and vulnerable. In contrast to Amalek’s attack on the weak and vulnerable our portion provides practical examples of compassion, such as the humane treatment of a captive woman and connections with the story of Ruth. Ruth’s story, in particular, highlights the principles of Levirate marriage and leaving gleanings for the poor, showing how God’s laws are designed to protect and uplift the vulnerable. Reflecting on these teachings, we are challenged to embody God’s compassion and justice in our daily lives. Consider how you can show compassion to those in need and take tangible steps to support them, reflecting God’s love and mercy.
