Parashat Balak
Balaam was known as a sorcerer who could divine the time in which to best strike enemies with a curse. However, his discernment was lacking such that a donkey could see what he could not and displayed greater powers of reasoning than Balaam.
As we walk out our faith, we must be discerning in all things – in circumstances, with people, and with ourselves. We need to know if the trials we face are from the LORD or from the enemy. We need to give others the benefit of the doubt and expect good from our brothers and sisters in Messiah. And we have to rightly assess our own heart and motives.
