Parashat Beha’alotcha
Moses was the most humble man in all the earth (Numbers 12:2-3), but that didn’t make him meek or weak. He was bold and courageous, placing himself between the downtrodden and the mighty time and again.
Moses became humble by emptying himself of ego (known as bittul hayesh in Hebrew) and submitting himself to God, becoming a vessel for God to work through.
Yeshua, the latter redeemer, is greater than Moses, emptying himself completely of self such that He could be fully given to God.
Yeshua calls us to abide in Him, for apart from Him we can do nothing. In this He calls us to be like Him, emptying ourselves of our ego, trusting in God and allowing Him to work through us!
And being found in human form, [Yeshua] humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Yeshua HaMashiach is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
