Parashat Tetzaveh
A key part of the design of the Tabernacle is that it has to have priests to minister in it. God established the priesthood of Aaron his sons as a chukat olam – an everlasting statute (Exodus 29:9).
The priesthood represented God to the people, and represented the people to God. The High Priest wore garments of glory and splendor and carried on his shoulders and over his heart a remembrance of the Children of Israel when he entered into God’s presence.
Yeshua, as High Priest in the heavenly Temple, carries us on His shoulders and bears us on His heart before the Father.
…because Yeshua lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
