Parashot Mattot and Massei
Within the Torah, God provided cities of refuge for people who had accidentally killed someone. The city of refuge was a place of mercy, protection and restoration until the blood had been atoned for through the death of the High Priest.
So too, God has provided a city of refuge in the person of Yeshua, our High Priest in the heavenly Temple, through Whom we have atonement by His death and hope in His resurrection.
In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
