Chag Pesach – Waving of the Omer
The resurrection of Yeshua is of central importance to the Good News of the Kingdom, for if the dead are not raised, there would be none to receive the blessing of the Messianic Era or the World to Come!
As the Scriptures foretold, the Messiah was raised from the dead on the third day – the day of the waving of the omer (first fruit) of the barley harvest. It was this offering in the Temple that made the rest of the harvest acceptable.
So too, Yeshua our Messiah is the first fruit offering presented in the heavenly Temple as the first fruit of the resurrection, providing the way for the coming harvest of souls at the end of this age!
But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Messiah all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Messiah the first fruits, after that those who are Messiah’s at His coming.
