Parashah Ki Tavo
The Children of Israel are the first fruits of the redemption, the nation chosen by God as His special treasure. To them, He revealed the Light of Torah, and gave them the calling to be a light to the nations.
With this position and calling, the Children of Israel are to walk in covenant faithfulness to God. Throughout time, when they have strayed from the commandments, God has sent prophets to call them to repent, that might turn back to God.
At the time of great darkness during the period of Roman rule, God sent forth His Light as His only begotten Son. Yeshua called the Children of Israel to repentance and brought forth redemption, that through Him, they might be restored and walk in the fullness of their call to be a light to the nations.
Yeshua spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
