Parashat Devarim
God is faithful to uphold His word and He is known by His deeds. He shows us what faithfulness looks like throughout the ages and gives us a perfect picture of faith through His Son Yeshua.
Emunah (Faith) is not simply intellectual belief, regardless of how sincere or authentic that belief is. The Jewish understanding of emunah is steadfastness and fidelity toward God, which includes belief but is incomplete without faithful obedience to God.
Believing in Yeshua does not mean to believe that He was a real person, but to have confidence in Him. Confidence that attaching ourselves to Him and steadfastly carrying out His commandments is pleasing to God.
Faith is active, and it’s through walking faithfully with God that we experience His salvation today!
Was our father Abraham not justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.
