God is Generous!

God is Generous!

Shavuot Day 2

God is generous, and He calls those who have received of His generosity to be generous with others.

In the Scripture, God ties this generosity to rejoicing in His appointed times, instructing the Children of Israel to give according to how much God has blessed them. Generosity and the appointed times go hand in hand.

At Shavuot (Pentecost), God gave the Torah and He poured out His Spirit. We have received of His great blessings, and from that overflow we give back to Him and others with a joyful heart.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Torah and the Prophets.
