Parashat Va’era
The Exodus narrative reveals how God’s redemptive plan often allows situations to intensify before deliverance comes. Through Pharaoh’s increased oppression of Israel, God demonstrated His sovereign power and perfect timing. He provided four key promises of redemption: bringing them out from burdens, delivering them from slavery, redeeming them with power, and making them His people. This pattern teaches us to respond to opposition with righteousness rather than vengeance, creating light instead of battling darkness, while trusting in God’s perfect timing.
