Parashat Vayigash
The story of Joseph’s life is a story of restoration. A story that has within it multiple aspects of people seeking out what had been lost.
Joseph was lost to his brothers, and the brothers were lost to Joseph. Even though they were separated, it was God’s intention to bring them back together.
Within the story, we see many parallels with the life of Yeshua and the restoration God was working out through his life. As First Fruits of Zion notes, we see so many parallels because “Joseph’s story shows us what it looks like when God saves His people by raising up a savior”
God has promised that He would seek and save that which was lost, and He will restore the fortunes of the Children of Israel when He brings the stick of Judah and the stick of Ephraim back together as one, with His servant David to rule over the Kingdom!
And He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ And He said, ‘Write, for these words are faithful and true.'”
