Parashot Tazria and Metzora
In this portion we see a pattern of the process of bringing cleansing to those who have some form of contamination.
In the case of someone with tzara’at (leprosy), it is believed their physical contamination is a direct result of a spiritual malady, often lashon hara (evil speech). Cleansing a person from a spiritual condition such as this involves more than just removal of the bad habit. There must also be the establishment of good habits and speaking words of life.
In this there is a removal of contamination and a process of purification which then allows restoration of relationship and a new beginning!
A man with tzara’at comes to Him, begging Him and falling on his knees, saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Moved with compassion, Yeshua stretched out His hand and touched him. He said, “I am willing. Be cleansed.” Immediately, the tzara’at left him, and he was cleansed.
