Preparing Our Holy Sanctuary

Preparing Our Holy Sanctuary

Parashat Shemini

As we approach Shavuot (Pentecost), we are in a period of spiritual preparation. Preparation for what? For an increase! An increase in intimacy with God and spiritual sensitivity.

For this greater outpouring of the Spirit, we must prepare our hearts to receive it!

In Mark 7, Yeshua says what proceeds out of a man is what defiles him. Contrary to popular belief, Yeshua says nothing about what one eats, but only about what remains inside a person, which are matters of the heart.

In this time of preparing a greater place for God to dwell in us, we are to guard and prepare our hearts!

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

1 Peter 1:13-16
