The Battle is the Lord’s

Parashat Balak

God delivers His children from their oppressor time and again throughout the ages. He protected the Children of Israel from Balak’s attempt at having Balaam curse Israel. He delivered the Philistines over to defeat through David’s faithfulness in fighting Goliath.

Even in the midst of these victories, there were battles that remained and the Children of Israel had to remain steadfast and to equip themselves for the challenges that lay ahead.

So it is with us today. We live in a time of great deception and wickedness, where words are twisted to fit evil agendas. Righteousness and truth are continually under attack, and history is rewritten to demoralize and divide the people.

We look to the day of Yeshua’s return and the restoration He will bring. In the meantime there is work to be done, standing firm in faithfulness and equipping ourselves for the road ahead. In walking out this calling, God will raise up deliverers as He did with David and we will again see our deliverance comes from God, because the battle is the Lord’s.

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
