Parashat Eikev
God cares about both the great and the small moments of our faith. The Hebrew word eikev, rooted in the word for heel, reminds us that the things we tread on, even the small, seemingly insignificant commands, matter deeply to God.
Abraham was blessed not only because of his willingness to offer Isaac, but because of his daily walk of faithfulness in everything God commanded him. Yeshua affirmed this kind of faithfulness, teaching that not even the smallest part of God’s Word would pass away.
The call is not to achieve perfection through our own effort, but to walk toward God day by day, trusting that He meets us where we are. Faithfulness in the little things, how we speak, how we respond, how we honor others, shapes who we are over time.
God has always been after the heart, and outward obedience reflects an inward surrender to His lordship that brings transformation. God has shown us what is good, and He calls us to walk in it, both the great and the small.
