Parashat Chukat
In this portion we are presented with several matters that are beyond our natural ability to understand, but that does not mean they are without meaning or purpose!
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
proverbs 25:2
The commandments regarding the red heifer, Moses speaking to the rock, and raising up a serpent in the wilderness are all examples of chukot – God’s statutes that are beyond human reasoning. Their meaning has been concealed, but we find some degree of understanding in the work of Messiah.
The mysteries within these commandments point to the mystery of God’s plan of redemption through Yeshua our Messiah!
…that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and that they would attain to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Messiah Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
