The One Who Makes Peace

The One Who Makes Peace

Parashat Pinchas

Finding peace through selflessness requires us to sometimes take difficult, unpopular stances when guided by God’s righteousness rather than seeking human approval. The biblical story of Pinchas demonstrates that true peacemaking isn’t about avoiding conflict but confronting issues that separate people from God with humility and love. God’s principle of preserving life (pikuach nefesh) shows that His commandments were given so people might live, not die. Like Yeshua who prioritized healing and dignity within the framework of God’s commandments, we are called to be zealous for God’s truth while demonstrating compassion. True peace comes when we speak truth from a place of humility, prioritizing restoration and reconciliation over popularity.
