Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah
The story of the Akeidah (binding of Isaac) in Genesis 22 is written with multiple layers, revealing far more than a story of obedience. At its heart is a picture of God’s plan to provide a Son who would atone for the sins of the world.
The parallels between Isaac and Yeshua are not coincidences but divine fingerprints woven into the text long before the fullness of the plan was revealed. Isaac carried the wood on his own shoulder, willingly walked with his father in unity, and, according to tradition, even prayed words that Yeshua would later speak from the cross.
Abraham’s declaration that God would provide the lamb was both a statement of faith and a quiet prophecy. The ram caught in the thicket, according to Jewish tradition, was prepared before the foundation of the world, and nothing could stop it from arriving.
In every trial, God is present and His provision is complete. He is the God who provides, who sees, and who will one day be seen by every eye at the sound of the shofar.
