Parashat Terumah
God’s desire is to dwell with man. He is a relational God desiring close communion with His people in genuine intimacy. That is why when He asks for contributions from His people to build a place for Him to dwell, He asks it from those who will freely give from the heart. Not out of obligation, but out of desire to be close to Him.
God is worthy of our best! Our best is not measured by the size of the gift, but out of the selfless and heartfelt motivation that leads us to give joyously and sacrificially to him in our time, talents and resources.
In doing this, we prepare a Sanctuary for Him on the earth and within in our hearts, that He may dwell among us and within us!
…let them take for Me a portion, from every man whose heart motivates him…They shall make a Sanctuary for Me so that I may dwell among them.”
Exodus 25:2, 8
