Parashat Re’eh
God sets before His people a fundamental choice between blessing and curse, emphasizing the importance of seeking His presence in the place He chooses. The Hebrew word ‘makom’ (place) carries deep significance, ultimately pointing to God Himself as ‘the place’ where we find fullness of joy. Throughout Deuteronomy’s portion ‘Re’eh,’ the command to rejoice appears seven times, connecting to the complete joy found in God’s presence. This teaching reveals how Yeshua (Jesus) becomes the ultimate place of God’s name, offering the path to life and fullness of joy through abiding in His love and keeping His commandments.
