The story of the 12 spies sent to scout the Promised Land reveals powerful lessons about faith and trust. While 10 spies spread fear about giants and fortified cities, only Joshua and Caleb trusted God’s promise. The people listened to the witness of the 10, and this lack of faith resulted in 40 years of wilderness wandering for Israel. True faith requires action—like Abraham who simply went when God called him. We must recognize God’s past faithfulness, identify our areas of doubt, embrace community support, respond quickly to God’s voice, and guard against complaining. Our challenge is to see ourselves through God’s eyes rather than as grasshoppers facing giants.
